Dominican Republic tourism entities receive international awards

The Dominican Republic's tourism sector has received several international accolades in 2026. The Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) earned two gold Magellan Awards for its “Subway to Paradise” marketing campaign, which utilized the New York City subway system to connect with the Dominican diaspora.

In the hospitality sector, Zel Punta Cana, a Meliá Hotels International property associated with Rafael Nadal, won a gold Magellan Award in the “All-Inclusive Resort/Hotel” category. Additionally, Eden Roc Cap Cana was awarded two Michelin Keys for its exceptional design and service. Eden Roc Cap Cana also ranked sixth among the best resorts in the Caribbean in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, making it the highest-rated Dominican establishment in that category.
