Dominican Republic's Las Américas Airport Cancels US‑bound Flights Amid Northeast Storm

Intense rain and flooding in the northeastern United States forced the cancellation of numerous flights at Las Américas International Airport (AILA) in the Dominican Republic, leaving dozens of passengers stranded at the terminal and at U.S. airports.

Airlines affected include JetBlue Airways, Delta Air Lines and Arajet, with flights to and from New York's JFK and Newark Liberty airports suspended, as well as some rotations to Boston, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and San Juan. AERODOM listed specific flight numbers such as JetBlue B6‑609, B6‑210, Delta DL‑1908 and Arajet DM‑2315 among those cancelled.

The airport operator urged travelers to stay in contact with their airlines and verify flight status directly, noting that schedules could continue to change as the weather system evolves.
