Dominican Republic’s Regional 15 Education Gala Showcases Student Arts

The Regional 15 Education Directorate held its third Regional Arts Gala, themed “Travesía del Arte: De Quisqueya a Francia,” at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Santo Domingo. The opening ceremony took place on Tuesday, February 26, with performances continuing on Wednesday, February 27, featuring student groups from the six districts of the region in music, dance, theatre and other artistic expressions.

The event was organized by the regional arts technical team led by Santa de Paula, together with district technicians, school directors, coordinators and teachers. Regional director Eddy Chávez Placencio highlighted the gala’s role in promoting integral education, creativity and cultural identity, and thanked President Luis Abinader and Minister of Education Luis Miguel De Camps for their support. The gala also recognized Gelson Navarro for his contributions to the arts program. The 2026 Arts Gala is dedicated to the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Games, emphasizing cultural integration and national pride.
