Dominican swimmer Antonella Aybar qualifies for 2026 Central American Games; Cuban Yarisleidis Cirilo wins World Cup sil

Dominican swimmer Antonella Aybar secured qualification for the Central American and Caribbean Games slated for July‑August 2026 in Santo Domingo. Aybar, who began swimming at age 11, has built an international junior record, competing in events across Central America, Mexico, Colombia and the World Junior Championships in Romania. She qualified in multiple freestyle distances and will aim for a podium finish at her first senior regional multisport event.

Cuban athlete Yarisleidis Cirilo, a medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympics, added a silver medal to Cuba's tally at the World Cup in Hungary. Cirilo delivered a strong performance in the decisive phases of her race, reinforcing her status as one of Cuba's leading competitors in her discipline.
