Dominican teachers face delays in performance evaluation reviews

The Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) is facing delays in the review process for 3,126 public school teachers who underwent performance evaluations. The union reports that the review process has become slow and difficult due to the high volume of documentation, with some teacher files reaching up to 16 pages.

According to ADP Communications Director Menegildo de la Rosa, the lack of recorded classes has made the review of the planning and observation stages somewhat subjective. The union has threatened legal action against the Ministry of Education’s Vice Ministry of Teacher Accreditation and Certification, accusing the body of withholding results. The delay has prevented educators from receiving performance incentives and one year of retroactive salary payments, creating uncertainty among teaching staff.
