Don Rito Maresca reassigned from Mortora to Capri

Don Rito Maresca is transitioning from his leadership role in the Mortora community in Piano di Sorrento to a new mission in Capri. The move follows a request from Bishop Francesco Alfano for Maresca to serve the communities of Santo Stefano and Marina Grande.

In a letter to his followers, Maresca described the transition as a challenge for the community to be more generous and to continue the mission of the Church. He expressed faith that the change is a divine call to bear new fruit in a different context.

Don Carmine Sorrentino will succeed Maresca in Mortora, marking his first experience as a parish priest. The Confraternita di Mortora expressed gratitude for Maresca’s dedication and service, welcoming the new leadership while emphasizing the enduring spiritual bonds within the community.
