Donald Duke outlines 2027 presidential platform and addresses past political rumors

Donald Duke, the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) presidential candidate for the 2027 elections, has addressed both past political controversies and his vision for Nigeria’s future.

In a book by Seun Oloketuyi, Duke alleged that former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai circulated rumors claiming Duke was an operative for the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, prior to the 2007 presidential election. Duke stated he confronted El-Rufai regarding these claims.

Regarding his 2027 ambitions, Duke emphasized a platform centered on meritocracy and economic reform. He pledged to move away from political patronage by appointing officials based on competence rather than loyalty.

On the economic front, Duke criticized current management of fuel subsidies and high interest rates. He proposed that Nigeria’s economic success should be measured by income per capita and employment rates rather than foreign reserves or government revenue.
