Donald J. Trump International Airport rename prompts airline alerts

West Palm Beach International Airport in Florida will be renamed Donald J. Trump International Airport, with its IATA code changing from PBI to DJT on August 18. American Airlines notified passengers booked to fly to the airport that the code change will appear in reservation details but no flight changes are required. The airline also provided a script for agents to explain the notification. The airport serves a range of carriers, including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, JetBlue Airways and others, offering numerous domestic and international connections.

The name change and code update have led airlines to adjust their systems and communications to reflect the new DJT designation while assuring travelers that their itineraries remain unchanged.
