Donald Trump addresses Iran tensions and Strait of Hormuz control

US President Donald Trump has made several statements regarding Iran and regional security. During a White House press conference, Trump claimed that his administration has established control over the Strait of Hormuz over a seven-month period, citing 18 casualties. He contrasted this with the Vietnam War, where he noted thousands of US soldiers were lost.

Regarding Iran, Trump stated that international mediators cannot act on proposals concerning Iran's nuclear program without direct approval from Washington. He noted that while low-scale conflicts occur, such as occasional rocket launches or drones being intercepted, there have not been recent fatalities. Trump suggested that while he would prefer not to destroy the rest of the country, he might be forced to do so if necessary, adding, “You will find out soon.”

Additionally, Trump commented on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, suggesting that a major agreement involving all of Europe is imminent and that the US is close to resolving the war.
