Donald Trump says Iran war could end soon, Hormuz partly open FAST-MOVING

U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters that the conflict with Iran will end “pretty soon” and expressed confidence that Tehran cannot sustain the fighting much longer. He said the United States is negotiating directly with Iranian representatives and claimed the country has “massive” ammunition stockpiles, denying reports of shortages.

Trump also described the Strait of Hormuz as “sort of open,” while warning that Iranian mines, drones or short‑range missiles could still threaten commercial shipping. Iranian officials, including Acting Defence Minister Brigadier General Seyed Majid Ibn Reza, said Iran is ready to give a decisive response to any threats. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf criticised the U.S. approach as “theatre diplomacy.”

Regional fighting continues: Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia’s Najran province injured 11 civilians, and clashes in Yemen have killed dozens of troops. Iran and Oman are reported to be close to a deal that would reopen the Hormuz waterway, though details remain unsettled.
