Donald Trump declares 'I am the boss' at G7 summit in France and attends Versailles dinner

U.S. President Donald Trump arrived on the third day of the G7 summit in Evian, France, and greeted the other leaders with the remark “I am the boss,” which was captured on video and drew laughter. He briefly complained about the heat in the meeting room before taking his seat beside French President Emmanuel Macron.

During the summit, leaders reaffirmed support for Ukraine and discussed economic issues, while Trump expressed willingness to press Russia and referenced a U.S.–Iran agreement. He also received a German national‑team shirt from German leader Friedrich Merz.

After the G7 sessions, Trump stayed for a gala at the Palace of Versailles. Macron hosted a private tour of the Hall of Mirrors, a concert in the Royal Chapel, and a dinner with French and American officials, business executives, and diplomats. The event was presented as a celebration of the U.S. 250‑year independence anniversary and a display of Franco‑U.S. friendship.
