Donald Trump denies ongoing negotiations with Iran
President Donald Trump has stated that there are no ongoing or scheduled official negotiations with Iran, following the expiration of a 60-day memorandum of understanding intended to facilitate peace. While Trump previously mentioned unofficial communication channels through the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, he clarified that no formal dialogues are currently in progress.
The President indicated that the United States does not intend to extend the memorandum, asserting that Tehran is unwilling to agree to terms deemed necessary by Washington. Trump also emphasized that the U.S. maintains total control over the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route, and claimed that all sea mines have been removed or detonated to keep the waterway operational.
In a social media post, Trump shared a map of the Strait of Hormuz labeled as ‘NEW United States territory,’ signaling heightened territorial ambitions in the region. This development comes as the conflict between the U.S., Israel, and Iran approaches its sixth month.
