Donald Trump links end of Iran conflict to US elections
Donald Trump stated during a campaign rally in Mobile, Alabama, that the conflict with Iran could end “very soon,” potentially immediately following the November 3 elections.
Trump addressed the geopolitical and economic dimensions of the tension, asserting that Tehran must never acquire nuclear weapons. He characterized current energy costs as a “small price” to pay for preventing Iranian nuclear proliferation, while promising that oil prices would “plummet” once the conflict concludes.
Regarding Iran's internal stability, Trump claimed the country's economy has collapsed, citing an inflation rate of approximately 310%. He further questioned the possibility of diplomatic negotiations, stating there is currently no one in Tehran with whom Washington can communicate, noting that “nobody wants to become president.” Trump also commented on Iran's military limitations, suggesting the nation lacks sufficient naval, air force, radar, and anti-aircraft capabilities.
