The deadline to extend the pact is July 1, after which the agreement could fall to annual renegotiations.

The USMCA covers roughly $2 trillion in annual trade between the three nations. Trump’s refusal to renew could trigger new negotiations on key sectors, notably the auto industry, and alter tariff‑free market access that has kept consumer prices lower.
