Donald Trump says Iran will grant major concessions in US talks

Donald Trump, former U.S. president, told Congress that Iran is prepared to make "big concessions" in the preliminary negotiations with Washington. He said Iran has informed the United States that it will not demand any navigation fees for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, and warned that any final deal including such fees would be unacceptable.

At the opening of the "Great American Country" exhibition in Washington, Trump claimed the United States had signed a historic agreement that ends the conflict with Iran, keeps the Strait of Hormuz fully open, and ensures that Iran will never acquire nuclear weapons. He asserted that the Iranian leadership has been "destroyed" and that U.S. military superiority guarantees peace in the Middle East. Trump linked the deal to lower oil prices and a rising stock market, and tied the announcement to the upcoming 225th anniversary of American independence.
