Donald Trump shifts G7 focus to Ukraine, downplays Iran at Evian summit

U.S. President Donald Trump arrived late at the G7 leaders’ meeting in Évian‑les‑Bains, France, and greeted the other heads of state with the remark “I am the boss.” He held a brief private discussion with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron, stressing that the United States will “do whatever we can” for Ukraine and urging Russia to reach a settlement.

Trump also warned Iran that any move toward a nuclear weapon would bring “real hell” on the regime, but said the Iran agreement was now “back in the rear‑view mirror” as the war in Ukraine became the top priority for his administration.
