Donald Trump threatens Iran and lauds Zelensky at NATO summit in Turkey

At the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, U.S. President Donald Trump warned that the United States could resume attacks on Iran, declaring the interim cease‑fire agreement "over" and threatening further military action if Tehran struck again. He also praised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, describing his work as "incredible" and reaffirmed strong support for Ukraine, with NATO committing about €70 billion in aid through 2027. Trump's remarks sparked criticism from some of his own supporters and highlighted tensions within the alliance over recent U.S. airstrikes on Iranian targets after attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. The summit also discussed NATO unity, defence spending and other issues such as Greenland, but Trump's Iran threat and Zelensky commendation dominated coverage.
