The talks, brokered by Oman with Qatar, Pakistan and Egypt, aim to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for commercial shipping and lay groundwork for broader nuclear discussions. Recent U.S. strikes on Iranian targets and ongoing raids in Iraq and Syria have heightened tensions and raised concerns about the depletion of U.S. air‑defense stockpiles.
