Donald Trump threatens intensified US strikes on Iran’s infrastructure

U.S. President Donald Trump told Fox News that unless Tehran returns to negotiations, the United States will expand its military campaign against Iran. He warned that “next week we will hit power plants, we will hit bridges” and hinted at the possibility of a ground operation against the oil‑rich Kharg (Jark) island.

The U.S. Central Command confirmed a renewed naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and the resumption of air strikes on Iranian military facilities in the south, marking the fourth consecutive night of attacks. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard responded with retaliatory strikes on U.S. bases in the Gulf region. The escalating rhetoric and actions come amid the ongoing 2026 Iran‑U.S. war, which began after Iranian attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
