In Texas, the Trump‑endorsed Paxton faces a strong challenge from Democrat James Talarico, with Republicans warning that defending the seat could require an additional $100 million. In North Carolina, the departure of Sen. Thom Tillis opened the field for Trump‑backed Whatley, while Democrats target the seat with former Gov. Roy Cooper. Senate leaders and party committees are urging MAGA Inc. to fund the campaigns, but the super‑PAC is prohibited from coordinating directly with candidates.

Trump’s fundraising efforts have included million‑dollar tickets at his resort properties, and his aides, including former political director James Blair, say the president intends to spend “substantial resources” to help the party win the midterms.
