In Israel, U.S. Senator JD Vance told officials that the United States remains Israel’s sole powerful ally. He emphasized that two‑thirds of Israel’s defensive systems are supplied and funded by the United States and that the U.S.–Iran pact does not obligate Israel to withdraw its forces from southern Lebanon, a point Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected.
