Donautalbahn rail services suspended due to track defects

Rail services on the Donautalbahn line between Donauwörth and Lauingen are facing significant disruptions due to track defects. The operator, Agilis, has suspended train traffic until further notice, with potential closures lasting until Thursday morning.

Deutsche Bahn reported a major fault in the track layout between Donauwörth and Tapfheim. Additionally, ongoing bridge maintenance in Neuoffingen has interrupted service between Günzburg and Donauwörth. To mitigate the impact, four buses are operating as a replacement service between Donauwörth and Lauingen during the day.

Further complications exist on the route between Lauingen and Günzburg, where scheduled construction to renew corrosion protection on a bridge over the Danube is expected to last six weeks. This section is already utilizing replacement bus services through October 18.
