Donauwörth police issue citations to over 250 speeding drivers

Traffic police in Donauwörth conducted speed enforcement operations from Friday, August 7, to Sunday, August 9, 2026, resulting in over 250 speeding violations.

On Friday, controls on the DON 20 near Fünfstetten identified 61 speeding drivers, 48 of whom faced citations and two who face driving bans. The highest recorded speed was 169 km/h by a driver from the Donau-Ries district.

On Saturday, checks on the B2 near Donauwörth led to 113 complaints. Among these, 36 drivers were in the citation range, including two facing driving bans. A Mercedes driver from Donau-Ries reached a top speed of 177 km/h, facing a 1,200 euro fine, two points on their driving record, and a two-month driving ban.

On Sunday, enforcement on the B16 near Staudheim resulted in 84 speeding violations. Of these, 47 drivers faced citations and two faced driving bans. The highest speed recorded during this session was 159 km/h.
