An Giang Police dismantle 750 billion VND gambling and money laundering ring

An Giang Provincial Police have prosecuted 96 individuals involved in a transnational gambling and money laundering ring. The investigation revealed that the criminal organization used rented properties in Phu Quoc to facilitate online gambling transactions, while the system's servers were located abroad.

The ring was allegedly led by Nguyen Ngoc Minh Thien, also known as Jackie. To operate the scheme, the group hired individuals to use their bank accounts for transferring betting funds and laundering money. They also exploited online gaming promotion and cashback policies for illicit profit.

Authorities have identified approximately 3,000 suspicious individuals linked to the operation. Investigators found that over 327,000 accounts were used for transactions, with a total value exceeding 750 billion VND. The investigation is ongoing as police work to identify more participants, some of whom may be operating from outside the province or abroad.
