Dong Nai province faces severe flooding and landslides

Heavy rainfall and rising river levels have caused significant flooding and landslides across parts of Dong Nai province, Vietnam. In Phuoc Tan Ward, the rising Buong River flooded residential areas and roads starting early on September 24, forcing residents to move belongings to higher ground and causing disruptions to local transportation, including the flooding of a pedestrian underpass near the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway.

In Binh Minh Commune, rising waters from the Thao River caused flooding between 0.5 and 1 meter deep in areas such as Song May hamlet, cutting off several roads. Local authorities have mobilized military and police forces to ensure resident safety and assist with property relocation. Additionally, heavy rains triggered landslides in Phuoc Son Commune, most notably affecting the primary road connecting the commune to Lam Dong province. Local militia units have been deployed to secure landslide sites and guide safe passage for vehicles and pedestrians.
