At the IAA Transportation exhibition, major automotive manufacturers showcased significant technological advancements in commercial transport.

Dongfeng unveiled a new hydrogen-based vehicle platform, the T1-H, which features a modular design including a 400 kW fuel cell. This new fuel cell boasts an energy efficiency of over 58% and a lifespan exceeding 33,000 hours. One specific tractor model utilizing this technology is projected to achieve a range of 1,700 km with a consumption rate of 7 kg per 100 km. Additionally, Dongfeng presented a 16.2-liter hydrogen combustion engine capable of delivering 412 kW of power.

Daimler Buses announced a new generation of engines and transmissions designed to improve vehicle performance and reduce fuel consumption by up to 6%. These technologies, along with a new electronic architecture for enhanced safety systems like Active Sideguard Assist 3, are scheduled for implementation in Setra and Mercedes-Benz premium models starting in 2027. The company is also modernizing driver workstations with interactive multimedia displays and voice command capabilities to reduce operator workload.
