Dongfeng and Kia unveil new hydrogen and electric vehicles at IAA Transportation

At the IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, Dongfeng Motor unveiled its new T1 energy platform for commercial vehicles and three hydrogen-powered models. The T1 platform is designed with integrated software and hardware modules, including fuel cells, hydrogen storage, and electric drives. Dongfeng reported that its hydrogen vehicles can achieve a range of up to 1,700 kilometers on a single tank, with a fuel consumption rate of under 7 kg per 100 kilometers. The company also introduced a 400-kW fuel cell product and aims to bring its hydrogen solutions to the global market.

Kia also debuted the PV7, a flexible electric commercial vehicle, as part of its 'Platform Beyond Vehicle' strategy. Available in both cargo and passenger versions, the PV7 utilizes the Electric Global Modular Platform for Service (E-GMP.S). The vehicle features 800-volt technology, enabling a charge from 10 to 80 percent in 25 minutes, and offers a range of up to 460 kilometers with its larger battery option. The PV7 is slated for market release in the second half of 2027.
