Kia PV5 electric van family expands globally
Entities: Arnošt Barna · PV5 Passenger · Kia Corporation
Overview
Kia’s PV5 electric van family, launched in May 2026, continues its worldwide rollout. After the 1,000th van was delivered in the Netherlands in mid‑July, Kia Netherlands President Léan Verstoep highlighted the model’s fit with Dutch entrepreneurial mobility needs. In New Zealand, pricing for the PV5 Cargo was confirmed at NZ$64,990 + on‑road costs, with the market‑leadership team noting strong demand from commercial operators and private buyers and previewing larger PV7 and PV9 variants slated for later years.
The lineup was further extended in Europe on 27 July with six‑ and seven‑seat configurations of the PV5 Passenger introduced in the Czech Republic. The new models offer 51.5 kWh or 71.2 kWh batteries, a WLTP‑rated range up to 397 km, 150 kW fast‑charging (10%–80% in under 30 minutes), a 399 mm step‑over height, V2L capability and 315–350 L luggage space. Kia Czech CEO Arnošt Barna positioned the variants for families, corporate fleets and niche transport services such as hotel shuttles and airport transfers.
Overall, the PV5 platform’s modularity, payload capacity and evolving body‑style options sustain Kia’s push to capture commercial and passenger‑vehicle segments across Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania through 2029.
