Automakers launch new electric and hybrid models
Several automotive manufacturers are expanding their vehicle lineups with new electric and hybrid models.
In Spain, Dongfeng has launched the Vigo, an all-electric compact SUV built on the Quantum S3 platform. The vehicle features a 163 CV motor and an LFP battery, offering up to 521 km of urban range and 340 km of combined range. It is positioned to compete in the B-SUV and small C-SUV segments against models like the Volvo EX30 and Hyundai Kona.
VinFast has introduced the VF Wild, a large pick-up manufactured in Vietnam. This model utilizes extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) technology, where a gasoline engine acts solely as a generator to charge the 46.4 kWh LFP battery, while a 160 kW electric motor drives the wheels. The vehicle offers a total range of over 1,000 km.
In the Dominican Republic, Grupo Viamar has presented the 2027 Mazda CX-5. The redesigned SUV features increased interior space, improved ergonomics, and a 2.5-liter engine across all versions.
