Dongfeng expands electric vehicle presence in Portugal and Brazil
Dongfeng is expanding its electric vehicle presence in Portugal and Brazil with the introduction of new models. In Portugal, pre-sales have opened for the Vigo, a compact electric SUV priced at 26,990 euros plus VAT for the One Edition version. The Vigo features a 163 CV electric motor, a 51.87 kWh LFP battery, and a WLTP range of up to 340 km, which can reach 521 km in urban settings. It supports 167 kW DC fast charging, capable of increasing the battery from 30% to 80% in 18 minutes.
In Brazil, Dongfeng is preparing to debut the Box electric hatchback and the Vigo SUV. The company's strategy includes the future introduction of the Voyah and M-Hero premium brands. While Dongfeng has expressed an intention to begin domestic production in Brazil by 2028, this remains a corporate goal without a formal industrial commitment or confirmed factory location. The company is currently working on establishing a dealership network and defining local homologation and service conditions.
