BYD launches Song Pro Flex hybrid SUV in Brazil with flex‑fuel capability

BYD has introduced the Song Pro Super‑Hybrid Flex Fuel SUV to the Brazilian market. The model is offered in two trims – GL priced at R$ 176,990 and GS at R$ 199,990 – and can run on electricity, gasoline or ethanol. The GL version provides up to 60 km of electric‑only range, while the GS can travel up to 120 km on battery power.

Production takes place at BYD’s Camaçari plant in Bahia, part of a R$ 5.5 billion investment that aims to raise the share of locally sourced components to over 50 % by January 2027. The vehicle uses the DM‑i 5.0 hybrid system with a 1.5‑L Atkinson‑cycle engine, a Blade‑type battery, and features such as a 12.8‑inch infotainment screen, Google Automotive Services, ADAS Level 2, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a redesigned “Dragon Face” front end.

In its first month of sales, BYD recorded 23,465 units sold in Brazil, doubling the previous year’s figure and securing a 9.1 % market share. The Song Pro Flex is positioned as a flagship of BYD’s strategy to expand local manufacturing and eventually export the model to other markets.
