Dánica brand producer Dorada S.A. to close Llavallol plant

Dorada S.A., the producer of the Dánica brand and part of Grupo Beltrán, has confirmed the definitive closure of its historic industrial plant in Llavallol, Buenos Aires province. The facility is scheduled to cease all operations on September 30.

The decision follows a period of economic, productive, and operational difficulties. The company stated that despite various measures implemented to improve competitiveness and preserve jobs, it could not achieve the conditions necessary for a sustainable operation. The plant had been operating under a reduced capacity agreement with the union, primarily focusing on packaging processes.

This marks the third time the Llavallol plant has faced closure in recent years, with previous instances occurring in 2020 and late 2024. The current closure will affect approximately 30 to 35 employees. The company has indicated it will proceed with legal severance payments and the permanent decommissioning of the facilities in accordance with environmental regulations.

The Sindicato de Obreros y Empleados de la Industria Aceitera (SOEIA) has rejected the announcement and is seeking an audience with the Ministry of Labor of the Province of Buenos Aires to attempt to preserve the remaining jobs.
