Dortmund: WWII bombs defused in Westfalenpark

Two 250-kilogram British World War II bombs were successfully defused in Dortmund's Westfalenpark on Wednesday. The discovery led to significant disruptions, including the closure of the B1 federal highway in both directions between B54/Ruhrallee and Märkischer Straße.

A 300-meter evacuation radius was established, affecting areas near the Westfalenhallen and Signal Iduna Park. Despite the proximity of the bombs, organizers of the ‘Rammstein Symphonic Experience’ concert at Westfalenhalle 2 announced that the event would proceed as scheduled, though attendees were advised to monitor official city updates regarding road closures and potential delays.
