Doruk Madencilik found to have forced workers into illegal unpaid leave

An investigation by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security has confirmed labor violations at Doruk Madencilik in the Mihalıççık district of Eskişehir. According to reports sent to the Bağımsız Maden-İş Union, inspectors found that the company subjected workers to union pressure and forced them into unpaid leave during 2022, 2023, 2025, and 2026.

The Ministry noted that the employer failed to reach written agreements with employees regarding unpaid leave, and workers had made no requests to take such leave. The report emphasizes that forcing employees into unpaid leave is a violation of labor laws.

Furthermore, the Ministry stated that the company must retroactively pay wages and report social security premiums and tax deductions for the periods in question. While wages for 81 workers were reportedly paid for the 2025 period, the necessary insurance and tax notifications to the relevant authorities were not completed.
