Dosquebradas initiates school return plan following earthquake
Authorities in Dosquebradas are entering a decisive phase to facilitate the return of students to in-person classes following a recent earthquake. Between September 15 and 16, technical teams from the Secretariat of Public Works, DIGER, and the Secretariat of Education are conducting inspections of educational facilities to determine which sites are safe to operate. Decisions regarding which institutions can resume in-person learning by Monday, September 21, will be made this Wednesday based on these technical assessments.
To support this educational reactivation, the municipality has received a donation of approximately 364 million pesos from the Accenorte road concession and the Frisby Foundation. This contribution includes 12 large tents to serve as temporary classrooms for the Bernardo López Pérez, Fabio Vásquez Botero, and Popular Diocesano institutions. Additionally, the donation provides sanitary modules, bunk beds, mattresses, and rest kits to improve conditions in temporary housing for families affected by the earthquake.
