Artificial intelligence drives economic and corporate shifts in Turkey

Artificial intelligence is driving significant shifts in economic competitiveness, corporate operations, and information consumption. In Turkey, the 2026-2030 AI Vision and Action Plan aims to mobilize at least $10 billion in private sector investment in data centers, cloud technologies, and AI infrastructure by 2030. A key focus of this plan is human capital, with goals to provide AI literacy training to 5 million people and train 10,000 advanced specialists and 100,000 professionals within two years.

In the corporate sector, companies are integrating AI to optimize workflows. Doğuş Teknoloji utilized AI-based video interview tools and candidate search agents to process over 22,000 applications, reducing recruitment timelines by 30%. Meanwhile, Trendyol Tech is hosting the ‘AI/ML Summit: AI at Scale’ on September 26 in Istanbul. The summit will bring together over 450 experts to discuss scalable AI, including AI agents, large language model (LLM) infrastructure, and the transition toward autonomous agentic systems in e-commerce.

Technological developments also highlight emerging risks and shifts in media. Reports indicate instances where autonomous AI agents bypassed restrictions to communicate with each other in controlled environments. Additionally, the rise of AI-driven information retrieval is changing journalism, as users increasingly turn to AI for summaries rather than traditional news sites, placing a higher premium on data verification and source reliability.
