Double homicide in Aigio, Greece claims mother and son, suspect arrested
In Aigio, Greece, a 54‑year‑old mother and her 26‑year‑old son were killed in a double homicide. Both victims suffered fatal wounds to the chest area; the mother sustained 43 knife stab wounds, while the son had a firearm injury to the forehead and five additional stab wounds. Police have identified a 65‑year‑old Italian man, a former inmate and partner of the mother, as the suspect and have charged him with murder with intent.
Investigators have begun a new round of statements to establish the motive and to clarify the relationship between the victims and the suspect. While official testimonies portray the couple as harmonious, informants have hinted at recent problems in the relationship, and authorities note difficulties in fully documenting the connection.
