Doug Band testifies to House Oversight Committee on Clinton‑Epstein links

Former Clinton aide Doug Band appeared before the U.S. House Oversight Committee for a closed‑door interview as part of the bipartisan probe into Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Committee Chairman James Comer said the panel will question Band about his communications with Epstein and Maxwell, including emails and messages that referenced personal nicknames and travel arrangements. Band, who helped launch the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative, is not accused of any wrongdoing.

During the testimony, Band retracted a 2020 claim that former President Bill Clinton visited Epstein’s private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He told lawmakers he has no evidence of the trip and does not recall why he made the earlier statement to Vanity Fair. The committee also noted that Band arranged several meetings between Clinton and Epstein and accompanied the former president on flights aboard Epstein’s jet. The investigation follows Clinton’s own testimony earlier this year, where he denied ever traveling to the island.
