Doug Ellin denies Debi Mazar’s ‘toxic’ set allegations

Doug Ellin, the creator of the HBO series ‘Entourage’, has strongly denied allegations of body shaming and a toxic work environment made by actress Debi Mazar. Mazar, who played publicist Shauna Roberts, stated in an interview with The Times that while the first season was positive, the set became a ‘testosterone-fuelled environment’ by the third season.

Mazar claimed that following her second pregnancy, she felt pressure regarding her appearance, alleging that the production ‘didn’t like that I got fat’. Ellin responded on X, calling the claims ‘disgusting’ and stating that neither he nor anyone else of importance discussed Mazar’s body. He noted that he would ‘one million percent embrace any woman who got pregnant’.

Ellin did acknowledge making physical requests regarding male cast members, specifically wanting Adrian Grenier to be more muscular and Jerry Ferrara to look heavier. He expressed regret over those decisions, citing a failure to recognize the potential health implications at the time.
