Allegations of toxic environment on ‘Entourage’ set

Overview

Actress Debi Mazar has alleged that the production environment of the HBO series ‘Entourage’ became toxic during its later seasons. In an interview with The Sunday Times, Mazar described the first season as a ‘joy-fest’ but stated the atmosphere shifted into a ‘testosterone-fueled environment’ by the third season. She specifically alleged she faced scrutiny regarding her physical appearance after returning to work following the birth of her second daughter, stating, ‘They didn’t like that I got fat, even though I got skinny again’.

Series creator Doug Ellin has strongly denied these allegations. Responding on X, Ellin called the claims ‘disgusting’ and maintained that neither he nor anyone else of importance discussed Mazar’s body. While denying the body shaming allegations, Ellin did acknowledge making previous physical requests regarding the appearance of male cast members, expressing regret over those decisions.
