DP World and DFCCIL expand rail logistics connectivity in India
DP World has launched two new double-stack rail services utilizing the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) to connect the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) with key inland markets. The first service connects JNPA to the National Capital Region (NCR) via an inland container depot network including Pali/Rewari, Jhattipur–Panipat, and Modinagar. The second service extends connectivity to Sachana in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Simultaneously, the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) is enhancing its rail-based parcel logistics through the Joint Parcel Product – Rapid Cargo Service (JPP–RCS). Operating on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), this daily service covers approximately 1,200 km, connecting New Dadri in Uttar Pradesh with New Motidau and New Ancheli in Gujarat. The service aims to provide scheduled, reliable transit for e-commerce, FMCG, and time-sensitive cargo, integrating rail long-distance movement with road-based first-and-last-mile connectivity.
