DP World expands Nhava Sheva business park with ₹500 crore investment
DP World has inaugurated the second phase of its Nhava Sheva business park near Mumbai, representing an investment of approximately ₹500 crore ($52 million). This expansion adds one million square feet of warehouse capacity across an additional 42 acres, aimed at strengthening integrated logistics and supply chain resilience in India.
During his first visit to India in his new role, DP World Executive Chairman Essa Kazim met with leadership from the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), including Chairman Gaurav Dayal and Deputy Chairman Ravish Kumar. The discussions focused on deepening the long-standing partnership between the two entities and exploring future collaboration opportunities, such as the development of Vadhavan Port and further investment in the JNPA Special Economic Zone.
The expansion comes as companies seek to de-risk business operations and strengthen supply chains amid regional conflicts in West Asia. DP World currently operates two terminals at Jawaharlal Nehru port, with one concession set to expire in June 2027.
