Dr. Fauci’s Diary Shows Frequent Calls to Katie Miller in Early COVID‑19 Pandemic

Entries from Dr. Anthony Fauci’s personal diary, released by Republican Senator Rand Paul, document multiple phone calls in 2020 between the top U.S. health official and Katie Miller, then a White House communications aide who was pregnant. Fauci wrote that he checked on her “a couple of times per day,” calming her during an anxiety reaction and discussing precautions for her pregnancy. The diary also notes regular conversations with Stephen Miller, Katie’s husband and White House deputy chief of staff, and a contact with her pediatrician about their infant’s care.

Katie Miller has denied a personal friendship with Fauci, insisting the exchanges were strictly professional and meant to prevent any “leak against” her and her husband. Despite the diary’s portrayal of a supportive relationship—Fauci described Miller as “great (tough, smart, but great)”—the Millers have since become vocal critics of Fauci’s pandemic response.
