Dracula Dog Show to host international canine exhibitions in Târgu Mureș

The 22nd edition of the Dracula Dog Show and associated international canine exhibitions will take place from September 18–20 at the Weekend Complex in Târgu Mureș, Romania. The event features three major international shows—the Mures Dog Show, Dracula Dog Show, and Transilvania Dog Show—alongside three national club exhibitions for terrier, dachshund, retriever, and water dog breeds.

Zsolt Lokodi, president of the Mureș branch of the Romanian Cynological Association, stated that the event will involve approximately 3,000 judging sessions with participants from over 30 countries. More than 150 breeds are expected, including rare Scandinavian breeds such as the Finnish and Norwegian Spitz. International judges include Gerald Jupping from the Netherlands and, for the first time in Romania, a judge from China, alongside experts from Hungary, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Portugal.

In light of the event, Lokodi highlighted the lack of pet-friendly accommodations in Târgu Mureș. He is currently working on a project to implement a ‘pet friendly town’ concept, which would encourage hotels, restaurants, terraces, and public transport to welcome pets.
