International canine competitions in Romania

Overview

In September 2026, Romania hosted several major international canine events. The 22nd edition of the Dracula Dog Show and associated exhibitions, including the Mures and Transilvania Dog Shows, took place in Târgu Mureș from September 18–20.

The Târgu Mureș event featured 476 dogs from over 30 countries participating in six competitions. Notably, the Dracula Dog Show CACIB provided participants the opportunity to qualify for Crufts 2027, with finals held at the Medieval Fortress of Târgu Mureș.

Following these exhibitions, the FCI OPEN SAR 2026 was scheduled for September 26–27 in Craiova. Organized by the National Center for Canine Education (CNEC), this international search and rescue competition served as a qualification for the European Championship in Italy, involving teams from Romania, Bulgaria, Bosnia, and Montenegro.
