Dragan Antešević identified as wildfire victim in Omiš

The body of 34-year-old Dragan Antešević from Kotor Varoš, Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been identified following a search in the Omiš region of Croatia. Antešević, who was working as a seasonal worker in Croatia, went missing on August 13 while attempting to escape a large wildfire in the Stanići area near Omiš.

Reports indicate that Antešević was traveling in a vehicle with two other individuals when the fire surrounded them. While the other two women managed to escape, they reportedly sustained serious injuries. Antešević's body was located near the site where the vehicle was found. Her identity was confirmed through DNA analysis provided by her family.

The Croatian Ministry of Tourism and Sport and the Croatian Tourist Board expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The search operation involved local police and the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS).
