Dragi Mihajlovski Translation Awards announced in Skopje

The Dragi Mihajlovski translation awards for 2026 were presented at the Blazhe Koneski Faculty of Philology in Skopje. The ceremony coincided with the 75th anniversary of the birth of the Macedonian writer and translator Dragi Mihajlovski.

Ana Pejchinova received the award for the best literary translation into Macedonian for her work on Rudyard Kipling’s ‘Selected Poems’ from English. The jury praised the translation for its ability to maintain rhythm, rhyme, and the complex ideological and linguistic registers of the original text.

Professor Borislav Pavlovski from Croatia was awarded the international Dragi award for his translation of Dragi Mihajlovski’s novel ‘Bayazit and Oliver’ into Croatian. The award ceremony was organized by the publishing house ‘Antolog’ with support from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of North Macedonia.
