Dragi Mihajlovski translation awards

Overview

The 2026 Dragi Mihajlovski translation awards progressed from the selection phase to a formal ceremony in Skopje. Initially, twelve works from eight different languages advanced to the second round of selection for the awards honoring translations into Macedonian.

During the final ceremony held at the Blazhe Koneski Faculty of Philology, which coincided with the 75th anniversary of Dragi Mihajlovski’s birth, several winners were announced. Ana Pejchinova received the award for the best literary translation into Macedonian for her English-to-Macedonian translation of Rudyard Kipling’s ‘Selected Poems’.

Additionally, Borislav Pavlovski was honored with the international ‘Dragi’ award for his Croatian translation of Mihajlovski’s novel ‘Bayazit and Olivera’. The awards were organized by the publishing house ‘Antolog’ with support from the North Macedonian Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
