Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary Exhibition Opens in Tokyo

To mark the 40th anniversary of the Dragon Quest series, a multi‑floor exhibition opened at Tokyu Plaza Harajuku’s Harakado building in Shibuya, Tokyo, on 17 July 2026 and will run until 6 September. The event features a Meta Quest 3‑based VR ride with motion seats, historic development panels, rare archival material, themed photo spots, interactive monster displays and a pop‑up restaurant. Series creator Yuji Horii and Square Enix staff highlighted the immersive attractions, noting the “real‑life, highly immersive” experience.

In parallel, the August 2026 issue of the classical‑music magazine *Ongaku no Tomo* dedicated a feature to the game’s music, celebrating composer Koichi Sugiyama’s work and including interviews with Horii, Square Enix staff and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. The issue also provides a concert guide and a ticket supplement.
