DragonForce vocalist Marc Hudson steps back due to tinnitus

The heavy metal band DragonForce has announced that vocalist Marc Hudson will step away from recording and performing for the time being due to ongoing tinnitus issues. This hiatus includes the band’s planned new album and tours scheduled for 2026–2027.

Hudson will remain involved with the band behind the scenes, working with management on upcoming projects. To fill the void, the band has introduced Alessio Garavello, a longtime friend and Hudson’s former vocal coach, as the new male vocalist. Garavello will support frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz in a dual-vocal format.

Guitarist Herman Li emphasized that protecting Hudson’s hearing is a priority, stating, “We’d much rather have him healthy and with us for the long haul than push through now and risk that.” Band member Sam Totman added that Garavello brings his own unique energy to the group. The band plans to begin releasing new songs starting next week.
